So a few weeks ago we went to the Parada Del Sol rodeo. A friend of Adrian's volunteers every year and gave us VIP tickets. What did the VIP section get us? If we had been there an hour or so earlier, we would have gotten lunch. Instead we had some corn chips and dippin' dots which was just fine because we ate lunch before we arrived.
The seats were in one of the corners of the arena so we had a good view of the team roping event.
One of the highlights of the show was this guy who herded two bison up onto the TOP of this trailer and down. sorry the photo is a little dark. You can see the cowboy standing on his horses saddle and the two bison behind him on the top of the trailer.
We watched the festivities, but our kids were the most excited about getting to ride the mechanical bull and take a ride on a pony. Ashley was so excited, that is all he wanted to do. He need help up, and it didn't take long for him to fall off, but he had the time of his life.
Lily rode the ponies. She was thrilled. I tried not to think about the sad lives those little ponies lead.
After watching a few more events, eating some popcorn and root beer we headed out across the dusty parking lot, saddled up in our Mazda 5, and headed home.
