Etsy- The New Face of Organised Crime in America?

Come February 10th every person who sells items intended for children who does not or cannot comply with the new CPSIA legislation will be a criminal. The law designed to protect our children from dangerous lead and phthalates is so overreaching and vague that it gives a blank check to shut down small American Business owners(think Etsy shops!), children's libraries, crafters and consignment stores. It includes restrictions on ANYTHING marketed to children 12 and under. I will not list all the details here, so many others have already done that. Read what Marcy has to say about it here and forward her letter to all your friends.

You might think- "Oh, but they won't shut down children's libraries or some sahm's online craft boutique!" But the point is that they CAN, because under the new law these businesses will be operating illegally. And what if someone gets a fine or is shut down? Do you think a judge is going to buy "I didn't think that they were going to enforce the law," as an argument?

Please help save handmade and call your Senators. This law needs some major reworking, so it can do what it was intended to do- protect children, not hurt hardworking American families. For more info and at Etsy
